Kerala SSLC Annual Exams this year start from March 10, 2014 with 4,64,310 students expected to appear in 2,815 centres in Kerala, the Gulf region and, Lakshadweep. Total 4,79,650 students had written the class 10 examinations in 2013. While 416 students have registered to write the examinations from the eight centres in the Gulf region, 824 students are expected at the nine centres at Lakshadweep, 4,63070 students are expected to turn up for the examinations across 2,798 centres in the State. Of these 2,27,959, are girls. There are 49,066 students in the SC category and 7,245 in the ST category.
Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan SSLC Students are attend 3,42,614 students would write the examinations in Malayalam, 1,16,068 students would write in English, 2,302 in Tamil and 3,326, in Kannada. Approximately 25,000 teachers will be drafted for invigilation duty for the examinations which would conclude on March 22.
The maximum number of candidates from a single centre would be the 1,721 candidates from St.Mary’s School, Pattom. While 1,607 students would appear for the examinations from PKMM HS Tirur, 1,088 candidates would be from Rajiv Gandhi Memorial HS, Mokeri. The education district hosting the maximum number of candidates is Tirur (36,020). Only 2,438 students would appear from the Kuttanad education district. Among revenue districts, Malappuram would host the maximum students (77,296) and Idukki, the minimum (13,708).
The question papers were brought to the sorting centres at the district education offices between February 24 and March 1. These packets are stored in 176 banks and in 321 treasury offices across the State. Each question paper packet that has been double packaged should be opened on the respective dates and at the respective examination halls in front of the students. Before the packets are opened, the invigilator and two students should certify to the fact that the packet is intact. Candidates should write the register number in both the main sheet and in the additional sheet.
